Reproductive Education

Updated: Jun 23, 2023

Just about a week ago, we heard news of a leak with the Supreme Court trying to overturn a law that has been set into place on the Reproductive right to have an abortion (defined as; termination of a human pregnancy most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy) for over 50 years.

This has our country currently, in a MAJOR uproar and protest in regards to My Body, My Choice Vs Pro Life.

I could sit here and tell you how frustrated I am given my still very recent past experience with having the drug Methotrexate for my ectopic pregnancy (defined as; a pregnancy in which the fetus develops outside of the uterus typically in a fallopian tube but other locations of improper implantation could include, cervix, ovary, or other parts of the abdominal cavity which is rare but possible) as I mentioned in the last post my ectopic took place in 2020 and although there is great frustration within me, this blog post is not about my choice and support of my body my choice or pro life.

This post is coming from a place of love from a woman who wishes she knew and took way more time on her own to understand the things that she did not know that she knows now in regards to Her body, Her boundaries and the power she holds to educate herself from child bearing age.

Bottom line is we all know that schools and parents DO NOT educate and provide young women, men and non-binary people with the information that they need to be able to be completely successful in this very common area of our lives. Yet we are pressured in every day society about birthing children and getting married, creating a family. The lack of teachings and sharing information in such areas is not their fault as most lack proper education and knowledge in these fields themselves.

In spite of these changes that may or may not occur with the overturn, AS PEOPLE, WE HAVE THE POWER TO EDUCATE OURSELVES IN ALL THINGS FROM SEX EDUCATION, REPRODUCTION, CONCEPTION, BIRTH AND POSTPARTUM. This has me believing it is our responsibility in this generation that we as people in this world creating, conceiving and raising children that we educate ourselves and help the generations to come.

Over the coming weeks I will use my platform to post more frequently by sharing more posts on options that we have available and doing my due diligence in research, sharing information including my own personal experience with Menstrual Cycle Tracking, Birth Control, Ovulation Tracking and currently a big study of monitoring Basal Body Temperature. As I said, we have the power to educate ourselves in these areas as Birthing People and Partners. What is just as important is the boundaries we learn to set for ourselves in our relationships.

We must be the ones to make the difference and that begins now by being proactive instead of reactive.

In conclusion, I will say this, there must be strong action taken in cases of emergency such as, potential death of the birthing person due to conception or rape. These life threatening situations should have options readily available for the health and safety of the life going through this type of experience and needs to be STRONGLY taken into consideration moving forward.
